MAXIM® Climbing Ropes is proud to offer the exclusive Signature Series, created together with our global climbing team! The Signature Series ropes represent a handpicked selection of our highest quality and most performance oriented MAXIMs. The series contains one of each of the exacting standards of MAXIM’s Pinnacle, Glider and Airliner.
Airliner
The MAXIM Airliner is ultra-light, ultra-skinny and perfect for quick ascents with long pitches, multi day climbs or areas with long approaches. The Airliner is an indestructible rope that is triple certified as a single, twin and half rope. Using this skinny climbing rope is the quickest way to save some weight.
Pinnacle
The Pinnacle range has now transitioned to a new highly durable 9.4mm rope that still handles as well as the previous version. The PFC/PFAS free sheath of this rope has the same slick handling that you have come to expect from our Pinnacle line.
Glider
The 9.9mm Glider is the most popular of the entire MAXIM line. We’ve re-designed the product to have some great new features while retaining those that are most important to climbers.
Apex
MAXIM® Apex is the workhorse of the MAXIM product line. Designed for top rope, big wall, trad climbing or for working projects and developing routes, this traditional pattern climbing rope meets the mark of high performance and a high UIAA fall rating.
Equinox Elite
Equinox Elite is a versatile single rope which opens countless options for both ambitious climbers and beginners. The unique smooth TPT pattern on the sheath and a high proportion of sheath ensure resilience in open areas and durability. The rope features a dry treated core (STD-DRY) to reduce water absorption. The new MAXIM Equinox Elite makes climbing a true joy!
Unity
MAXIM Unity is certified as both a twin and a half rope. It is a multi-purpose rope that is perfect for the weight-conscious alpinist or climber. Unity is constructed to reduce drag and increase fall protection over sharp edges. Therefore it is perfectly suited as an alpine climbing rope or ice climbing rope. For ice climbing MAXIM recommends 2x-DRY treated models.
Chalkline
Chalk Line is the longest lasting gym rope on the market and was specifically developed for the punishment indoor gyms inflict on rope. Whether you have a small community gym, outdoor climbing wall or a nationally branded gym, the Chalk Line can take the constant falls and belays that all day use can impose.
Chalkline Soft
MAXIM’s Chalk Line Soft features the same construction as our standard Chalk Line gym rope but with a slightly looser sheath weave. This construction gives the indoor climbing rope a soft touch and increased knotability. Chalk Line Soft is one of the longest lasting gym ropes on the market.
Ecoline
MAXIM® Ecoline is the economical solution for high-use indoor climbing. Built with eco-friendly sheath fibers and solid abrasion resistance, this rope is gym-ready and budget-smart. At 10.1 mm, it’s easy to handle, easy to knot, and great for belaying—perfect for rental setups, beginner areas, and training routes where value and reliability matter most.
About MAXIM Dynamic Ropes
Dynamic climbing ropes are the most important piece of gear you have, because they keep you from hitting the ground. Their high elongation absorbs most of the shock in a fall, thereby taking the load off of your body and your anchors. MAXIM ropes are made of 100% high quality nylon and feature a kernmantle construction with twisted nylon cores and a braided nylon cover. MAXIM’s long lasting dynamic climbing lines are designed as a compact rope with high-energy absorption. Each of our dynamic climbing lines offers excellent handling, superior abrasion resistance and high durability.
Special features of MAXIM dynamic ropes
The core of every dynamic MAXIM Climbing rope is dry treated with our special Endura DRY treatment process, including our indoor gym ropes. This is for the ultimate level of safety protection since nylon loses a lot of strength when wet. In addition, for maximum water-repellency, selected models also feature Endura 2x-DRY and have both a dry core and a specially treated dry cover. Those ropes fulfill the requirements of UIAA water-repellency.
Our Pinnacle and Glider series also feature MAXIM’s TPT (Twill Pattern Technology) which aligns the sheath yarns with the direction the rope moves through your protection. This dramatically reduces rope drag and provides for buttery rappels.
The Chalk Line gym ropes also feature our Str8 Jacket technology, in which we tightly weave the sheath around a mid-sheath which grips the core. These are the longest lasting gym ropes on the planet.
Standards for dynamic climbing ropes
Dynamic climbing ropes are generally certified in three categories; single ropes, half ropes and twin ropes. All of them are certified to the European Standard EN 892 and the international standard UIAA 101. Within these standards, the rope’s construction, sheath slippage, static and dynamic elongation, maximum impact force at first fall as well as the minimum number of falls a rope has to withstand are regulated.
